Therefore, it is not a matter of getting more time but of making the best possible use of the time you have. Time is the most democratic of all your resources. Everybody has the same available time at their disposal every day: 24 hours. Time that passes never returns. That's why it ought to be a crime to steal other people's time. Ignore problems that solve themselves. Delegate problems that others can solve. Do yourself what only you can do. If you know what to do you can be successful once. If you know why, you will always be successful. You cannot eat an elephant in one mouthful. But you will succeed if you take one mouthful at a time. Many would like eternal life - without even knowing how to spend the next weekend. I own the problem. Planning does not limit creativity. It creates a foundation for it. All planning starts with a clear definition of the goals you wish to achieve. The art of personal planning is creating a link between available time and personal goals. If you pack the boot of your car, you take the big things first - and fill in the gaps with small things, so as to fit more into your car. Do the same thing with minor tasks that occur during the day. Too many people think that a period of waiting has to be spent waiting. An incompetent manager treats minor tasks as major tasks - while major tasks do not get done at all" Of winners and losers A loser says, "You misunderstand me". A winner says, "I didn't make myself clear". A loser says, "It's not my fault". A winner says: "Let's correct that mistake." A loser emphasises: "I'm not going to change my mind. A winner ascertains: "We obviously see it differently." Winner statements: I am not a victim of circumstance." "I choose my own feelings." "I make my own decisions on my time and my life". Luck occurs when your expectations and opportunities meet - so your expectations should be high. Everybody wants to be told they are good - and they will be good if they are told they are! Management is about turning a working situation into a learning situation. The manager's most important task is to develop his/her employees.
